FINPORT Case Study: React Native Mobile App for Tracking Financial Assets

Context and Task

FINPORT is a mobile app for tracking financial assets, with support for crypto wallets and investment accounts.

The task: bring assets from different sources into one app, show up-to-date quotes, transaction history, and changes in value, store data privately, and provide an interface that lets users get the information they need quickly without extra load.

What We Took into Account When Designing

An app where people see their money has to be clear and trustworthy. We built four principles into the structure.

All assets in one place. Crypto wallets and investment accounts live in one app, and new sources are added by blockchain scanning or API.

Data privacy. Data is stored privately, and communication with the server is encrypted.

Quick access to what matters. An intuitive interface, asset groups, transaction history, and filters help users find what they need without extra load.

Control on the user’s terms. Users set the currency, grouping threshold, and information sources, and move data to another device via QR code.

Solution

Asset tracking. The app supports crypto wallets and investment accounts. Users see up-to-date quotes, transaction history, and changes in asset value.

Watchlist. Users create a watch list of publicly traded instruments.

Asset sources. New sources are added through blockchain scanning or API.

Asset groups. Assets can be grouped, and the groups can be managed.

History and filters. Transaction history, filters, and app settings.

Under the Hood

The app is built with React Native. Data is stored privately, and communication with the server is encrypted.

Device sync works via QR code. In the settings, users choose the currency, grouping threshold, and information sources.
